A Look Back at the 2016 Fly-In Fishing Season

November 16, 2016

The fly-in fishing season up here is done. Well – what a year!

Nestor Falls Fly-In had almost perfect fishing weather from May through September, and our guests caught Walleye, Lake Trout, and Northerns like we’ve never seen.

Stan Smith, an early-season angler out at Larus Lake, told us his group released something like 2,000 fish. Not very many small fish either, that’s 22″-29″ Walleye and a 42″ Northern! Stan sent us photos of his best catch, plus a great sunset shot. It’s so perfect for us to share at the end of the season.

We’re truly blessed to be so close to Canada’s wilderness. The fly-in fishing season is hard work, but it’s also such a wonderful experience that we look forward to coming back and doing it all over again in the spring.

If you haven’t already, please email us your “fish story” and any photos you took on your trip to Nestor Falls Fly-In Outposts at info@new.nestorfalls.com We never get tired of hearing from you!

We’ll see you in 2017,
Dave & Michelle
