Baby on Board! Introducing Brax Nixon Dean

We couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce our second grandson – Brax Nixon Dean! Little Brax was born on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at 5 a.m., weighing 6 lbs 10 oz. Mom (our daughter Ashley) and Dad (James) are doing great!

Kasey and Jon were up north closing cabins and we were babysitting Ryan and their new puppy, Jewels, when the text came in at 10 p.m. Friday night. A normal evening turned into one of anxious excitement! James kept us informed all evening, ensuring us that everything was going smoothly. But this Nana still didn’t get much sleep until we received the text and photo telling us that baby Brax had finally arrived! Ashley looked beautiful. You would never have known that she had just given birth to this wonderful little guy.

Dave and I packed up the puppy and Ryan and headed straight to Winnipeg for a quick visit. Unfortunately, we had to turn around and come back home the same night. But it was well worth the trip! Ryan was so good on the road, spending 7 hours in the car. What a trooper.

We are heading back to Winnipeg tonight for another visit. And then we have Ashley and the baby for a week over our Canadian Thanksgiving on October 13th. We promised not to show too many photos of little Brax – but you know me! I slip them in whenever and wherever I can! We couldn’t be prouder grandparents.
