Back-to-Back Trophy Northern Pike

July 10, 2017

David Toivonen and his group opened the 2017 season at Herod Lake. The weather was cold and wet (brr!) but that didn’t stop ’em from fishing!

They used a combination of jigs, husky jerks, and worms to bring in nice Walleye and Northern. They caught Walleye in the 16-17″ range, plus 20-30″ Northerns. David also released his two largest Northerns ‚Äì 41″ & 43″ ‚Äì back to back!

No trip with Nestor Falls Fly-In is complete without seeing a moose, and it being late spring, David was lucky enough to see a Cow Moose with her calf. Look closely in the photo on the right, they’re very well camouflaged.

Escape to the Wilderness,
Dave & Michelle
