Hard Work after Hibernation
May 19, 2019
You’d think it would be easy. After all, we’ve been at this for thirty years, now.
The time has come when, just as the bears are crawling out of their dens, so, too, must we crawl out of our cozy homes after a winter of hibernation.
Good thing we welcome hard work at Nestor Falls Fly-In, because we’ve got a lot to tackle before our first guests arrive! Ready, Set, Race to get our planes in the water, open up the lakes and put the docks in place, and prepare our twelve remote cabins for the busy season ahead.
Although spring sure took her sweet time, she was worth the wait. The foliage is lush and verdant, streams are bubbling, and the air is fragrant with the floral perfume of daffodils and nodding trillium. Wild rabbits and mischievous squirrels skitter through meadows of buttercups, crocus, and stout blue-eyed grass. Golden sunlight glints through canopies of alder and ash, and majestic moose climb the hillsides. The migrant birds have returned as well‚Äîa sure sign that winter is over. On the bay, we’ve already seen swans, ducks, and Canadian geese.
Speaking of flight, we welcome Luke, Lou, Pat B, Pat T and Kyle back to fly you out to your favorite destination. There will be fresh faces, too, we welcome Jonah and Chris to our dock staff . We are excited to have you all come back and we are looking forward to another awesome summer.
Every opener may be different, posing new challenges and opportunities. Still, we harbor the same amount of excitement as the first season we opened our hearts and our cabins to new visitors, who, over the years, have become treasured friends.
Here’s to hoping this spring inspires you to embark on a unique fishing adventure‚Äîwhether it’s a once-in-a-lifetime trip, a reunion with your best pals, an anniversary celebration, or any reason to get out and enjoy beautiful Northwestern Ontario.
Drop us a line when you’re ready to spring into your next expedition. It’s always a good time to get away, and
Escape to the Wilderness!
