Malette Lake Outpost Expansion. Bigger and Better for 2013!
October 15, 2012
Bigger and better! Construction started last month on a new 24′ x 28′ addition and wrap-around deck at the Nestor Falls Fly-In Outpost on Malette Lake, still the only cabin presiding over this pristine wilderness site.
With the expert help from True Line Construction, the new addition is quickly taking shape: old deck torn off, new foundations dug, walls up and Tyvek-ed. The expansion to the modern accommodations at the Malette Lake Outpost will give our guests more room to spread out, relax after a day of battling Malette Lake’s renowned stock of Lake Trout, Walleyes, and Northerns, and of course enjoy the view of the towering pines, the sandy beach, and the crystal clear waters. Long a favorite of Nestor Falls Fly-In, the outpost boasts three bedrooms , hot and cold running water, showers, horseshoe pit, gas grill, and fish cooker.
The Malette Lake Outpost is located 190 miles north of our base, and guests staying there have the rare experience of having an entire lake to themselves. Guests also venture across the lake to Inlet Falls, where, after a quick portage, they can explore Upper Malette. After filling a stringer with Walleyes, guests often enjoy a shore lunch on an enormous flat rock affording a spectacular view of the falls and the lake.
