A Father & Son Fishing Excursion

July 27, 2013

The Larry Korf Party stayed at our outpost on Onepine Lake a couple weeks ago. The party of 6 was made up of 3 fathers and 3 sons, making their adventure the definition of father-son bonding.

Over the course of a few days, the father-son pairs released hundreds of fish, the Walleyes averaging between 17-25 inches. The fish were enticed by a variety of bait in 6-9 feet of water, including jigheads, shadraps, twister tails, and minnows.

The Walleye weren’t the only fish biting, though. On several occasions, the fishermen witnessed Pike attacking smaller Walleye as they were bringing the Walleye to the boat. The party even caught a few whitefish and perch.

As is common at many of our Northern Ontario outposts, the group also saw their share of wildlife on the trip, including moose, turkey vultures, wood chuck, and eagles.

If you’re a father looking to spend some quality time with your son, or if you’re a son looking to take your dad on the fishing trip of a lifetime, don’t forget the numerous opportunities for adventure our outposts can provide you. As a family business with three generations hanging about our office, we love to see multiple generations of explorers flying back from our outposts with stories and memories that will be passed on for years to come!

Escape to the Wilderness!
