FA…LA…LA..LA !!!!!
December 21, 2012
Brrrr! We are making ice here in Nestor Falls with very little snow and cold temperatures. As I write this posting today the temperature outside is -10 F.
Our family tradition has always been to head out into the forest to cut our Christmas tree. In the beginning it was Dave and I. Then the children came and the last 24 years Ashley and Dave would head out after school with popcorn and hot chocolate to look for the family Christmas tree. Even after she left home to go away to University she would ask her Dad to wait for the tree till she came home for the holidays. Now the kids are both married and making their own family traditions. We have come full circle once again; as Dave and I head out to look for the tree. This year we went out on the four wheeler looking for our Christmas tree and let me tell you it was cold. No windshield to keep the wind off our face, no hand warmers to keep the fingers warm and we were lucky to find the tree within 30 minutes of leaving the base.
Wishing you the timeless treasures of Christmas…. The warmth of home, the love of family and the company of good friends… Have a blessed and meaningful Christmas!
from our home to yours, Merry Christmas.
