Kay Lake & a Day Trip to Arrow Lake

October 22, 2014

Mike Britt & friends had a great fishing vacation on Kay Lake this year. One of the members of the party, Steve Roderick, is a passionate bass fisherman and said that it was the best smallmouth fishing he’s ever had! In addition to bass, our guests – Mike in particular – were also hoping to catch some musky. Mike was in luck and caught four of them! One of the muskies was caught when he was throwing a surface popper for bass on a light-weight 5 ft rod and 6 lb line with no leader. “That was a great tussle!” Mike told us. “Check that off the old bucket list!”
In addition to staying at Kay Lake, Mike and Rich Ward took a one day fly-in to Arrow Lake. Mike said, “It felt like we were on one of the walleye lakes up North.” In a single day they caught 40 walleyes, 6 “big, fat” yellow perch, and a half dozen small northerns. To all our guests out there, don’t forget that day trips like this are available! If you’re interested, please contact us for more information.
Thanks for sharing your Nestor Falls adventure with us, Mike!
Escape to the Wilderness,
Dave & Michelle
