Sharing Your Stories: Abby Endas
October 26, 2018
Abby 13, shared this wonderful story with us, and we wanted to share it with you!
I was fishing with my family Ben, Claire, Hunter, Jim and Rachel on Kay Lake. We released hundreds of fish – big ones too. The Bass were between 14-15 inches, Musky up to 32 inches and the Lake Trout were 24 inches. To catch the Bass, we mostly used beetle spins and shad rap rapalas. We caught our Musky and Lake Trout on deep diver rapalas.
My favorite part of the trip was naming all the fish we caught. We go through the alphabet and name all the fish with the letters as we go along. Aaron, Ben, Carolyn, Doug, etc. We would usually make it through the alphabet about twice each day.
It was amazing to see all the different wildlife on Kay. We saw Loons, beavers, snapping turtles, moose tracks, tons of different kinds of birds. We always bring a hummingbird feeder for this one little guy that shows up and makes several daily appearances. One of the more unusual encounters was with a woodpecker. He came flying, full speed, at the glass door. He shook off the crash and flew away, but you could see the wing print on the glass hours later. Bet he won’t be doing that again!
Thanks for sharing your awesome story with us Abby! I’m sure our readers enjoyed it as much as we did. If you are interested in sharing your story, please email it to info@new.nestorfalls.com
