The Call of Loons and Preparing for Our Favorite Season

This morning, I woke up to the call of loons. Immediately, I knew it was spring. And then I realized how much I’ve missed that sound! Kasey, Ryan, and I enjoyed our coffee on the deck in beautiful 65 degree weather, watching the loons doing their mating dance. They certainly have been plentiful the past few days! Even last night, Dave and I counted 18 loons swimming in our bay.

All this activity on the lake tells us the upcoming fishing season is approaching fast! Our staff arrived May 1st, and even though the planes are not at the dock yet, there is plenty of work to be done here at the Nestor Falls Fly-In Outposts base. The boys have been writing exams, prepping the motors and airplanes, cleaning the grounds, organizing the storage sheds, and grading the road in anticipation of your arrival. Kasey and I are preparing the beverage orders for shipment, and clothing orders should be arriving soon. We are so excited to see you all!
