Update on Our Trusty Turbine Otter
February 5, 2018
In our Bush Report at the end of the 2017 season Dave and I talked a bit about the Airworthiness Directive that came out from Transport Canada to all folks who owned an Otter. It was to have the spar straps replaced. We were hoping to have flown our Turbine Otter ODK down to Geraldton the end of November but could not do it then.
January 5, 2018 brought clear skies and despite the balmy -38F temperatures Mike Gate flew our Turbine Otter ODK down to Geraldton. Jon drove the truck to meet him at Recon Air facilities. It took only 2 hours 36 minutes to fly there but 8 hours to drive home! We are still waiting for the parts and paperwork to arrive in Geraldton so they can start putting her back together again.
I am praying that we have her back on line in the end of April to bring her back home!
