WOW! WOW! WOW!

Greg Wilburn and his friends drove up in their motor home from Colorado to enjoy some awesome fishing at Onepine. The weather was fantastic – hot and sunny everyday. We really could use some rain to bring the water levels up but in the mean time we will take this beautiful weather. The one set of rapids has enough water to get through over to Strawberry but the other one you need to get out of the boats to pull the boats through.

“WOW! WOW! WOW!” one of the guys said as the group walked in our office after returning from Onepine. He reported that the group did not keep track of the numbers of fish released but it MUST have been 10,000 walleyes between 14 and 18 inches. All smiles, the guy said he had never experienced this kind of fishing before and he would have called Greg a liar if he hadn’t experienced it himself.

They released Northerns between 26 and 30 inches and released two 40 inch Northerns. Largest walleye for them was 25 inches. They even caught a 4 1/2 inch Perch. When they first arrived at Onepine they were finding the fish in 22 to 25 feet of water but by the time they left they were fishing them in 8 feet of water.

They even got to see lots of wild life – like tons of Eagles, beavers, and they even got a glimpse of a Cow Moose with her calf.
